The name "Hoshi no Buranko" is derived from local legends and history associated with stars, such as the Tanabata legend. True to its star-inspired name, the area offers a breathtaking view of the night sky filled with stars.

In 1997, ”Hoshi no Buranko” was selected as one of the venues for the Naniwa National Sports Festival. During this time, a climbing wall was installed, and ”Hoshi no Buranko!” was completed. The view from about 50 meters high is stunning, providing a panoramic view of Osaka's beautiful landscape.
