The Osaka Classic Car Museum: History and Charm in a Red Brick Warehous

The Osaka Classic Car Museum, located in a series of renovated red brick warehouses built in 1923, is a must-visit for car enthusiasts and history buffs alike. The museum boasts a collection of approximately 80 classic cars from both domestic and international origins.

This area once featured numerous warehouses, but only two have survived the ravages of war and typhoons. The red brick warehouses that now house the museum were damaged by aerial bombings during World War II, with only their roofs burning. They ceased operations as warehouses in 1999 and were transferred to the Osaka city government. In 2015, they were reborn as the Classic Car Museum.

One of the highlights of the museum is the red brick warehouses themselves. While they have been reinforced for safety, they still retain the atmosphere of their original construction. An old crane used for lifting cargo can still be seen on the exterior walls.

The car collection on display includes rare and iconic vehicles such as the Rolls-Royce Phantom II from the 1900s to the 1950s, beloved by European aristocracy, and Japan's proud Toyota 2000GT. These classic cars are also available for purchase.

In addition to classic cars, the museum showcases modern imported vehicles, which are also for sale. The Osaka Classic Car Museum serves both as an exhibition space and a sales venue.

The area surrounding the red brick warehouses exudes an exotic atmosphere. On weekends, it becomes a lively hub for cosplay events, music concerts, DJ performances, dance shows, and fashion shows. The picturesque setting also makes it a popular location for movie and TV shoots.

Whether you're a classic car aficionado, a history enthusiast, or an architecture lover, the Osaka Classic Car Museum offers a unique experience. We look forward to your visit.
